Blueberry Peach Yogurt

Most of us in the US have been experiencing a heat wave the past couple weeks.  Even in New Orleans, it is hotter than normal.  Luckily humidity has cooperated a bit so the heat is slightly bearable.  With highs in the 100s, I have been spending much of my free time indoors and in pools.  Oh, how I am thankful to have friends with pools.

Mixed Berry Ice Cream

March madness in New Orleans is over.  No, I'm not talking about basketball.  I'm talking about the madness that is Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day.  This year, Mardi Gras fell on the second to last possible day that it can be, placing it in March.  The carnival season technically began on January 6, but the festivities really got started near the end of February.  The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of guests, parades, beads, king cake, and beer.  Mardi Gras was quickly followed by St. Patrick's Day festivities.  I live in an area of the city called the Irish Channel - enough said.

Blueberry Yogurt Popsicles

People keep asking me about the weather in New Orleans.  Its hot.  H-O-T....hot.  And it doesn't change.  All summer long, temperatures range from 85 to 95 degrees F with a ridiculous amount of humidity.  It doesn't get cool at night.  It stays hot.  Get the picture?  Luckily the fall is fast approaching and the temperature should start dropping a bit by October. Fall is my favorite season and I am very much looking forward to it.

Lemon Blueberry Yogurt

I warned you I would be sharing a lot of blueberry recipes.  Okay, maybe only two ended up on this site, but there were a lot more in my kitchen.  This recipe has been on the to-do list ever since I knew I would be picking blueberries.  The tart lemon and sweet blueberries form a perfect combination in each tangy bite.
