Blueberry Mojito Sorbet Cocktail

My guess?  You are reading this post because you were either intrigued by the title or you thought the title sounded strange.  A cocktail made into a scoop and then used to make a cocktail.  Seems a little backwards.  But then ask yourself, what would make your favorite cocktail better? Adding a scoop of something delicious, namely a scoop inspired by that cocktail.  Exactly.

Swanky Holiday Scoops

blueberry mojito sorbet

During upcoming New Years celebrations, why not incorporate a scoop of ice cream or sorbet into your favorite holiday drink traditions.  Making holiday eggnog?  Why not make some Egg Nog Ice Cream to keep it cold?

Sorbets are the perfect addition to holiday cocktails.  Add some Cranberry Sorbet to your favorite punch.  Top a glass of champagne with a scoop of Pear Champagne Sorbet or Kir Royale Sorbet for delightful champagne cocktail.  Make a frozen Blueberry Mojito.  Serve a scoop of Raspberry Merlot Sorbet or White & Blackberry Sorbet topped with a splash of wine.

Are you more of a beer drinker?  Ever thought about adding a scoop to beer?  The results are as satisfying as a holiday dessert.  Chocolate Porter Sorbet or Dark Chocolate Stout Ice Cream are a great addition to your favorite dark pint.  Want something with a little more fruit?  Try a scoop of Lambic Sorbet with your favorite lambic beer and stone fruit.

Not enough time to make your own swanky scoop?  Here are a few ice cream shops from which you can order your holiday cocktail scoops:

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and Sorbets
High Craft Road Ice Creams (sold by Dean and Deluca)

Have a safe and happy New Year!

Blueberry Mojito Sorbet

This sorbet is seriously one of my best scoop creations yet.  Fruity, full of citrus, with a hint of mint, and smack of rum, this sorbet tastes exactly like the real thing.  If you live in New Orleans (like me) you may have visited the St. Joe's bar from which this sorbet is inspired.  At this bar they muddle fresh blueberries and mint into mix of sugar and alcohol for a truly refreshing drink.  With all of the blueberries in my fridge after picking my own, how could I pass up the opporutunity to make an equally refreshing scoop?
