When I was a young child, I was obsessed with chocolate ice cream. It was always chocolate and only chocolate, no stinkin' vanilla. Not until I grew up, explored the world, and expanded my palate did I realize other ice cream flavors were just as tasty. I actually prefer lighter, fruity flavors now. But every once in a while I still crave a scoop of rich, chocolate ice cream.

There is a finally a chill in the air in New Orleans, and I love it. Fall is my favorite season. I can take walks outside without breaking a sweat and the air is crisp and refreshing. Festivals are popping up all around town now that the weather is breaking and there is a tingle of celebration in the air.

As I an ice cream fanatic, I frequently talk to people about ice cream. Discussion often turns to the flavors they enjoy (and trying to get me to make them) and ice cream shops they like to frequent. Through these conversations it has become apparent that people are either chocolate ice cream lovers or they are not. I am not sure why this dichotomy exists, as I enjoy almost every ice cream flavor in existence, but to some chocolate ice cream is not exciting.

The growing season has begun to shift from strawberries to blueberries and cherries. I love them all in their own way. Cherries are a relatively new found berry for me. It was not until high school that I really liked to eat them. Before
