Cinnamon Honey Vanilla Ice Cream

Life in New Orleans has been pretty laid back the last couple of weeks.  I think it is primarily due to the heat.  The pace of life in New Orleans is already as slow as molasses, but add heat and humidity on top of it and the pace slows to a near halt.

Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream

Last weekend I spent the majority of my time watching an online photography workshop with Penny de los Santos.  Penny is one of the most influential food and culture photographers out there right now.  Her workshop was raw, eye-opening, and meaningful.  Watching Penny talk about her passion as a photographer was inspiring.  Listening to her stories and watching her shoot help refuel my own passion for food and sharing it with others.

Egg Nog Ice Cream

I didn't try Egg Nog until two weeks ago.  I know, blasphemy.  The idea of it turned me off.  Drinking raw eggs?  Really?  I tried it, and I survived.  I like the idea of it - creamy base with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, oh yeah, and rum - but I still don't like the idea of drinking it.  Turning it into a frozen dessert?  Priceless.

Pumpkin Ale Ice Cream

Fall is my favorite season.  Fall brings cooler weather, comfort food, and the smell of falling leaves and crisp air.  Fall is comforting and satisfying. And even though the cooler weather comes a little later in Louisiana (compared to Maryland where I grew up), the feeling is still the same.
