White Chocolate Lavender Ice Cream Sandwich

As you may have noticed, I have a predilection for lavender lately.  Honestly I have enjoyed lavender as a culinary flavor for some time, experimenting through ice cream flavors such as Lavender Honey,  Lavender Vanilla & Wildberry Lavender ice creams.  Lavender appears to be a favorite flavor of the internets as well, since these ice cream flavors are some of my top viewed posts.

Wildberry Lavender Ice Cream

The past week has been a whirlwind of beads, booze, and parades.  Mardi Gras has come and gone and life can begin settling back to normal.  Not that I am complaining about living in such a fun city, but as fun as Mardi Gras can be it is also exhausting.  The festivities were fun but bittersweet this year because we spent one last season with our neighbors and good friends, who will be moving at the end of the week.  Stay tuned later this week for a super cute video of my 8-month-old neighbor eating my ice cream.  She loves it!

Lavender Vanilla Ice Cream

The flavor I chose to make this week was an accident.  I had the intention of making a Lavender Vanilla Ice Cream but not this week.  I was making a base for another ice cream when I accidently added sugar instead of honey, leaving me with a plain vanilla base.  I have made vanilla ice cream plenty of times, and you all know how I prefer fruit or chocolate, so I had to think of something to add to the mix.  I searched the spice rack and found my stash of lavender.
