Blueberry Peach Yogurt

Most of us in the US have been experiencing a heat wave the past couple weeks.  Even in New Orleans, it is hotter than normal.  Luckily humidity has cooperated a bit so the heat is slightly bearable.  With highs in the 100s, I have been spending much of my free time indoors and in pools.  Oh, how I am thankful to have friends with pools.

Tangy Peach Sherbet

Peaches have begun to appear at the farmers markets in Louisiana.  Each basket invites you to buy them with their orange and pink hues and fuzzy skin.  Juicy and sweet, this fruit makes a perfect frozen treat.  Last season I made a traditional Peach Ice Cream as well as Spicy Peach Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream.  This year I decided to try something a little more tangy.  I present to you my version of Tangy Peach Sherbet.

Peach Ice Cream, Two Ways

I was visiting the local farmers’ market the other day and discovered that one of the farms was selling fresh peaches.  The timing of this discovery was perfect because I had just come across two separate peach ice cream recipes. What better way to use peaches than in ice cream!
